Light bulb Survey..
I saw a news clip last night, that parts of Europe are banning the incandescent light bulb, and only the fluorescent ones will be available. This has created a demand and shortage of the standard bulbs.
I have slowly been switching over to the more efficient bulbs as the old ones burn out. but still use the incandescents in stairways etc, where I need bright light right away ( no slow warm up). What are others using?

There was an incident locally, where some girl broke one of the new Mecury Vapour filled fluorescent bulbs in her home. She called the help desk, who the called the local Hazmat Team. Her home was quarantined while they attended.
I believe there was NOT enough mercury to warrant this, but they did over react. NOW, how much mercury will be released to our landfills, homes, .....?

We use fluorescent in the basement and garage areas, but prefer incandescent in living areas. The rays from fluorescent do major damage to fabrics, furniture, carperting, artwork, etc., just like exposure to natural sunlight. You can save on electricity, but better start accruing for new home furnishings.
