GMT Master Setting Direction-
Hi all-
Back in August I picked up a 2019 BLRO on Jubilee off a seller here (Recaro18) who seems to be a pretty reliable seller: https://crowninoystercase.com/ I did quit a bit of follow up on the seller/bought the seller/etc, and it came with a warranty card. It passes every of the realness tests I could come up with (light, shape vs my other GMT master II, Rehaut, etc). However, I just noticed something: The crown 'setting' direction is inverted from my BLNR (which I have had serviced by a Rolex authorized local repair shop, also bought off a seller here, though IIRC, this is an 'early' one, ~2013). On my BLNR, turning clockwise advances the time both for the hour hand in their respective setting directions. HOWEVER, the BLRO is the opposite. COUNTER-clockwise advances the time, and clockwise goes the other way. DID the direction of setting change between the 3186 and 3285 movements? Am I just overreacting to this? |

The 3285 sets counterclockwise compared to the 3186 which sets clockwise.

Had the exactly same question when I picked up my 2024 YM Oysterflex! Answer above is correct regarding a change in the setting direction for 3285 movements.

I felt like a goof when I realized it this morning! I have a Exp2 and the Batman. Both of which have a 31xx movement I guess, so they are clockwise. I kept having trouble (at least, always getting it wrong at first) on the Pepsi, but it only clicked today that it is opposite of the others. Had a little panic, but thanks to those in this thread, I just feel silly instead!

So, I wore this watch during my trip, and despite being near-perfect time before this thread, every day I wore it it got worse and worse at keeping time. By the end of the week, I was near a minute-slow for the day!
Fortunately I have ~3 weeks of warranty left, so I brought it to the local AD, so they get to keep it for a while now :/ |

Sorry to hear.
Did you give the watch a full wind before wearing it? |

If anything I was MORE active during the week, so the self-wind should have done more than I usually do. Just disappointed that they are likely to have it for a few months. |

That’s a bummer. Hope you get it back sooner than later.
I’ve owned mine since 2018 and it runs perfectly. Luck of the draw I guess. |

That’s unfortunate about the timing issue.
Do you mind updating us when you get the watch returned from your AD? Maybe even inquire as to why the timing deviation and their fix? That would be appreciated by many here, I’m sure. Thanks. |
