I need a: TAILOR

Looking for recommendations to a good tailor in the NJ/NY/PA area for basic alterations and ideally can produce custom fit shirts and custom fit suits.

Look at Maxwell's (not for alterations). They're based in Hong Kong, but I think they might have a presence in your area. They also do "road shows", where they get a hotel suite for a few days in a city, and you go to them for fittings.

I basically only order custom shirts from the US as I prefer being there with the tailors for their suits. Depending on the fabrics you choose, it comes out to about $50 - $75 per shirt. That includes duties and shipping, etc...

You can find their schedule here:

I have used Macomber for many, many years. (http://www.macomberinc.com)

My tailor from there (Hong King) travels the world and hits major US cities twice a year.

Before I used them, my dad did as well. Actually, my tailor is my father's tailor's son!

PM me if you are going to use them. We'll both get a free shirt out of the deal!

WARNING: Tailor made clothes can be more addictive than watches and pens.

My dad and I likes Ascot Chang. A little expensive but worth it.

You need something with a swiss cuff, a hole just big enough for your Rolex to fit through.

I use Tom James mostly. Looks like they have several NY locations.

I know a girl who used to work for Tom James. I think they'll actually come to you and fit you at your convenience.

If I'm not mistaken, they are also the "behind the scenes" custom clothier for Neiman Marcus' custom shop.
