Advice - YG Solid Submariner/Daytona - Best day watch out of the two?

Been looking into getting a solid 18K YG Submariner with blue dial or daytona.

Which watch would ultimately hold its value best and be a better day watch?

Anyone have a market price for either of the two.

Sub - non diamond blue dial

Daytona - diamond champagne dial

Cheers guys.

Go with the sub, i heard the daytona YG loses value....Don't quote me on that!

Hmmmmm......

I'd say the YG Sub would be a better Day to Day watch as it has a Date

The YG Daytona would probably hold better value, but more expensive to service than a Sub. In Aus anyways

Either way, both winners in my eye's

One of our illustrious sellers will know the price of previous sold models

both are very nice

but keep in mind that the Gold sub sits higher and heavier than the gold Daytona, because of the super case although both are 40mm.

I personally like the gold Daytona better. The YG with PN dial or the WG with meteorite or the silver dial, those red hands are so beautiful.

Somewhat off-topic, but have you considered the white gold Daytona with meteorite dial?

I'd go with the Daytona, I think it's more subtle. I'd skip the diamond dial, though.

I'd go for the YG sub (black dial though). I'm not really a fan of the daytonas soft curved lugs and case. Plus if wearing it everyday the date function is handy. I wear a YG GMTIIC as my daily wearer and it's one of the most comfortable watches I've worn. As for holding their value I don't think there would be much between the two models. Just make sure that if buying new make sure you get a chunky duscout. Good luck with whatever you choose!

SS models hold value better...
Go check out the second market on gold sub and daytonas on ebay.
then compare it to SS models... i think you will get your answer.

I suggest the Sub. I found that I sometimes leave my Daytona in the safe because it doesnt have a date. Its a good holiday and weekend watch if you need a date during the week. Cheers G

I say who is going to be wearing the watch you? Go down to your local AD tell them to bring them all out Gold Daytona's, Submariner's, even the new GMT. 1 by 1 put them on walk around look in the mirror stare at it for a bit.The one that is for YOU will tell you hey right here boss im the 1.When you see it and feel it there is your watch my friend. That was the hard part now the easy part give them some cash or plastic and get out of there and go enjoy your day with your new Gold watch.

As for this question:Which watch would ultimately hold its value best and be a better day watch? Its a Gold watch money is no object and when it breaks we fix it or get another one I tried wearing a Gold Submariner daily and I found myself looking at all the scratches I kept putting on the bracelet. It was not for my lifestyle at the time.
