How to beat the fakers

Hi and happy New Year to all !

I was doing some surfing yesterday and came across a replica/fake Rolex LV. I was dismayed to see that the new fakes have laser etched crystals, engraved rehauts with matching serial numbers to the ones between lugs and even genuine Rolex 3135 movements! My thread starter is this; What can Rolex do next to keep ahead of the fakers? Share some of your ideas about new ways to stay ahead...

This and maybe microchipping or RFID? These have been my thoughts.

Set up a card key system like Hublot?

Or something like what Vacheron Constantin does?

I find it worrying that they claim to be using genuine 3135 movements......where on earth do they get a plentiful supply?????....or are they copied to look like 3135's?

They copy the 3135 but it still won't fool an amateur collector. I don't worry about fakes but you have got to be very careful about frankens...lots of them about, especially in second hand and pawn shops.

I know members of this forum don't like talking about fakes and feel sick at the very mention of them, but I think it is very beneficial to see what is out there..kind of like know your enemy and you will be less likely to be caught out.
