I haven't heard any complaints about V serials which means the issues had been ironed out by the time these were made.

I have a V serial I bought brand new in Feb 09. It's a daily wear and I have no issues to report.

Well in well over 30 years of Rolex experience never heard of any watch becoming collectable just because of a case date stamp.Most guys make the importance of case date stamp far to great.Its only a rough indication when the case was stamped and not necessarily when the case had its movement installed to make a complete watch.
