JJ, In my opinion, you have already made up your mind as to which watch you really want. If you could only own one Rolex, which would you choose - a Yacht Master or a Submariner? When you can answer that question, you know you have made the right decision for yourself.
I personally would always pick a Sub over a YM. I voted for you to sell the Platty and get the Bluesy! |

A BIG collective thank you to all who responded to this thread.......truly appreciate the time and patience you nice folk have exhibited.
Yes, I am in a bit of a dilemma right now. It would be hard to part with the YM.........but, at the same time, the Blue Sub is just yelling out to me!! Shall keep all of you updated on proceedings over the next days. Thanks once again - JJ

JJ... JJ... JJ...
Buddy? Here it goes... I voted the decision is yours... However now the more I read JJ... Go for the Blusy! But make this your last flip for a longgg while! I dont believe the Blusy will bring you BAD Luck! It's all in the mind! Maybe the last Blusy did in some crazy way but this time it will be different! You and Blusy are made for each other... When I see blusy, I think JJ as well. If you buy the blusy with good and positive vibrations, then I am positive it will bring you great luck/karma... By the way go for the older version. Oh and one more thing... the TT GMT and Blusy... two totally different watches with totally different looks... now your will have two great SS Sport watches and two awesome TT Sport Rolexes... Cheers! Kevin

Well if it were me I'd go for the bluesy . . . don't know too much about the YM but I think the blue sub is an absolutely stunning watch.

JJ, I thought the reason to get rid of bluesy was it gave you bad luck?
There, that teaches me to trawl through ALL the post before writing! Honestly, at this point in your collection I think I would trade both platty and the TT GMT and go for all gold, you should be able to swing a gently used DDII from a greay dealer for what you would get for those two?? I have always thought all gold would suite you really well JJ! |

kia ora JJ,
I originally voted for you to do nothing and sit tight. However, having now read this entire thread and seeing all the amazing photos of both Platty and Bluesy(especially the ones of you wearing both) I have to say...SELL PLATTY!! Not only is Bluesy a stunning watch, it doesn't blend with your arm hair like Platty , so go for it

I'm very late coming aboard after 10 pages... I love both. But from what I skimmed in the previous nine pages, I didn't see what I was looking for (but certainly could have missed it.) Why do you say the YM is "high maintenance"?
I did like the TT, older style. I'm thinking that will be my next, but really haven't made up my mind to go after it. I voted, 'the decision is yours'...

Also joining this one late...but JJ, you sure do have an incredible collection already. After seeing pictures of both, you cannot go wrong with either choice. Both seem to be great watches...the Platinum YM is a cleaner look (which you have with the Explorer II) and the Bluesy is probably more of a classic look (which you have with the Sub and GMT). If it were me, I would prefer to have the Bluesy. However, based on YOUR existing collection the YM is a nice compliment to your other watches.
Good luck and go with your gut feeling! |

JJ,
There is no way I would sell a plain old Platinum Yachtmaster and buy IMO the best TT Sub that Rolex has ever made. |
