At the airport to take off for the ExplorerII Polar..
Last time when I was at Seoul I wrote at the forum that I'd get an explorerII polar, but there was a problem at the duty free shop and I couldn't get the watch..Now 5 hours later I will be airborne for the ExplorerII..I will go to Seoul for 1 night to get the watch and I will come back to my city Istanbul at 22nd of February..as far as I am an airline captain I just pay a small amount of money for that flight..As I mentioned before the price of the watch is 4500USD at the duty free shop...and they stamp the cards and it will be written the name of the duty free shop..I guess it will not be a problem..
Well the main problem is GMT MASTER IIc is 6000usd at the same duty free shop and I am between those 2 choices..I have an Omega Planet Ocean XL so I don't want a black dial watch again..But the ceramic bezel looks beautiful..They are both functional for me because of the gmt hand.. So my friends I am waiting for your precious advices..Which one the explorerII with the 3186 inside or the ceramic bezel gmtII for 1500 usd more... Ohhh god; I am really confused :( All helps welcome..thanks very much |

I would see if they would discount for BOTH watches. I was at Seoul Duty Free before and the watch prices were pretty close to full retail and priced in US dollars (I was in Seoul in early 2009 when the KRW was de-vauled against the US dollar.)
Good luck !

Then sell the Omega for an Explorer 2. You have my dream job, and being a Pilot, you need a pilots watch! |

I would sell the PO and get both! I hardly even wear my Omega Seamaster these days.

Exp II without a doubt!
It is the most comfortable Rolex made. The original GMT for Pilots only tracked 2 time zones and the Exp II tracks 2. I do not like the case of the IIC, the polished center links and to be honest not even crazy about the bezel... I like the ceramic on the DSSD more and I like the old GMT II a lot more.

GMT IIc all the way...fantastic watch and my most comfortable one to boot.
If you can make Seoul...why not venture over to HK...much better deals to be had there and much more friendly than the icy attitudes found in cold corea... cheers

Decisions, decisions...! That is a tough one. Both are very nice pieces, similar, but very different. It would be nice if you can try them on side-by-side, and see which one really grabs you.
Good luck and hope to see photos of your new watch!

1. Go for the Explorer or... 2. As someone said before, buy the GMT IIc and sell the Omega and then get the Explorer II Last edited by erolorhun; 21 February 2010 at 08:07 PM.. Reason: Clarity |

you have to try them on side by side and take your time to choose...you will know which one to get......dont get too extreme...like buying both...Buying a watch is a great experience...spread your buying out rather then a one time party...you may want something else in the near future and wish you had been more coolheaded!
enjoy the choosing.. pete

The Explorer II is the most comfortable Rolex I have ever owned. Regret selling it.
However. Get the GMT II C. I own it and it is my favorite Rolex! |

Where in HK can you get it at a good discount? I have been quoted by an AD in Central 40,000 HKD (5,100 US!) for an Expy II... that's with an 8% discount.
