Advice needed: General info and value

Hi Folks!

I was referred to the site by "77datejust" and was hoping to get some guidance on the pricing my Rolex for sale and any info on the watch that you may be able to provide.

I inherited my watch from my Dad when he passed. The watch is an Oyster Perpetual Date Just. The model number is 16233 and I believe it's circa 1989 or 1990. He lived in Geneva at that time so it's possible it was purchased there. I have the original box but no tags(?) or paperwork. A local Jeweler here in Austin tells me it's a pretty common model.

I hate the idea of selling it but I have hit a wall financially and just don't have a choice. I need to price it for a quick sale.

Any input on where to sell it, price, and avoiding getting scammed would be very welcome.

Thanks!

Jeff

Sorry to hear about your Dad, and understand about the money thing, but if there is ANY WAY for you to keep it, you should try. If you have kids it be cool to give it to one of them at the appropriate time. Just my 2 cents.

$4000SGD maybe in the preown shop here. A boy size DJ with diamonds will be 5k at least.

Advice needed?

1st off we generally look at this type of opening as trying to by pass the normal requirements of 15/15 posts/time on the For Sale forum now, JSaustin if you would do a little research and you would see the going price of your watch. I do hope you get your post count up so that you may post your watch in the for sale forum as this thread will stop here.
