Milgauss craving. How odd...

Well, I've had my DSSD for some time now and love it dearly. I wear it every day and literally can't wait to put it on in the morning. Today, I was cruising the net and, bam, the milgauss caught me. Anyone own both of these that can comment? Do they compliment each other?

Gonna have to clear out something to make way, but it might be worth it

I reckon it compliments the DSSD in that it is a smaller, possibly more descrete offering. Certainly a very different watch.

Alot of people seem to have got them recently and have been pretty happy. Its a decent size and has a pretty clean dial if you like that sort of thing. The lightning hand certainly makes it pop and is pretty polarizing, but if it has already caught your eye than that shouldne be a problem.

but i guess i have to agree!

the GV would compliment the Deep Sea very much. while the deep sea (in my opinion) is ultra-rugged, the GV would be on the softer side with the smooth bezel and PCLs

if you don't mind not having a date feature, then GO FOR IT!!!!

I hv both of them and it's hard to decide which one I will wear in the morning, as both of them are real nice watches. If you can afford, go for it.

I can tell you this,....It catches lots of attention. Especially in the sun, the green crystal just "glows". To me it's a keeper because it's just different than any other rolex. It's probably the only watch out there with green crystal.

The Milgauss is a totally different watch... no other one I know has the green crystal.

A perfect complement to any other watch you own - especially a DSSD. Mine complements my collection very well.

I have a Sub Date and Milgauss GV.

The Sub is the classic Rolex everyone recognises,black rotating bezel,brushed ss,date with cyclops...a definitive Rolex/Divers/Sports watch.

The Milgauss is so completely different with non of the classic Rolex features of Sub. More dressier with polished case,fixed bezel,CL's,no date/cyclops etc........could almost go unnoticed as a Rolex.......which really appealed to me.

I think this reasoning also applies to DS and Milgauss.

Funny, I have a Sub date and Milgauss GV, and am seriously considering a DSSD -- you'll love the Milgauss. It's one heck of a watch and gets serious compliments. It's not easily recognizable as a Rolex but it certainly catches a lot of eyes.

There's literally nothing like it on the market. Compared to my Sub -- which I'll be the first to admit, there's some really decent value-priced homage pieces available of -- nothing stands out on the wrist like the Milgauss design.

Nothing odd about having a Milgauss craving...I own both the DSSD and Milgauss GV. For me, the DSSD is more a daily beater so it gets more wrist time than the GV, but when I put the GV on, I'm struck by the weight (it has two cases to ensure full magnetism protection), the wearing comfort and of course, the green crystal.

I have both. Made a deal about 1-1/2 years ago, bought the MV, DSSD and Daytona SS White as a package, and got 25% off on all three. I wear them in rotation with my TT DJ and GMTIIC. No regrets, love them all. The Green Milgauss is a very different watch tthan the DSSD, nice to have both, almost two extremes of the Rolex continum.

My younger niece is graduating from graduate school this Spring, so my next Rolex purchase will be for her. I bought an Airking for her older sister about 2 years ago, when she graduated law school, so I started a "policy" that gets kind of expensive! At least to the point where I dont' get any new Rolexes for myself for a while. But it's all good. Nothing makes a person feel as special as wearing a Rolex. Well, one of the top ways of feeling special :).

If you're looking for something a little less subtle, the black millie is very nice/classy. I opted out of the GV and just have the black - just a bit too much for me with the numbers and green crystal on top of the bolt...still pretty sweet though! The black is also considerably less expensive...DavidS has posted a few great deals recently...

Yes, it's a nice watch (well, it's a very nice watch!). Only criticism I have is that it can set off the security system in some stores - you know, you walk out the door and the alarm goes.. took me a while to work it out, but it is definitely the milgauss - had a run in with a security guard in London, did all the searches etc, waved the milgauss through the security sensors and sure enough it was the watch. The guard thought it was pretty cool actually..
