Introduction + "I'll never trade in any of my rolexes..!"
Hello Friends...
Long time lurker, just wanted to finally produce a thread! I've been thinking of trading in two DJs and a rather large amount of money for a SS daytona. [Disclosure: I have a black dialed DJ + silver dialed DJ with jubilee + ss sub]. However...I really can't let go of any of my rolexes even though I don't wear the DJs as much as my sub (i still rotate though). I guess I would sell them if I required the funds for a family emergency/reasons.
I know some of you guys trade in your watches regularly...I just have way too much of an emotional attachment Great reading the posts and I promise I'll post pics someday... |

Welcome to TRF..
I never trade in watches.. You seldom get what they are worth, and you're right, there is a bit of attachment to them... I'll bet that many great watch collections just started out by hanging onto the ones you have.........

I agree. As much as it makes sense to sell my sub I just can't do it. Long live the collection!

Although I don't consider myself a flipper, I have traded in 2 watches already.
I agree, however, that it's very hard to let go of an old friend. It's like trading the memories that go with the watch. BTW, welcome to the nut house!

I couldn't agree with you more. Even my lowliest Timex is a treasure to me.
Even when I visit my AD and they make offers for my Explorer, it only reinforces my desire to keep it "till death do us part." If they wanted it that bad, they shouldn't have sold it to me in the first place. |

Grady...you know Rolex only rents us these things...just try to get them to change the dial on "your" watch.
