I like the black dial because of the contrast it provides with that light bezel

I've had the pleasure of owning both....but if I had the choice today, I'd opt for the white. Not too many white dial sports Rollies out there, that's why!!

I had a white dial Cartier, so I would pick the black one....but then my GMT has black dial, so Iīd pick the white one....
Difficult choice, really canīt choose just one.
Canīt I have them both??????

That white is beautiful...and like JJ said, not too many other sport models have it. I'd also choose the white specifically because I prefer the SS Sub with the black face.

White in my opinion: psychological I think: "exploring" Antarctica at -40 C with the white dial that looks frozen !!! . By the way, what year did the Explorer II came out ?? Thanks all.

Explorer II designed as we have it today came out in 1985. Original Explorer II came out in 1971 -but that is the one with the orange 24 hour hand that could not be adjusted.

I purchased my White face last year. It just looks "clean" and you can use the Lume to find your car keys in a dark spot

The original Exp II's 24 hour hand was synchronized with the hour hand. So it only told the 24 hour (military time). You were not able to set it seperately to tell the time in a different time zone. Origianl Exp II was designed this way, so you could see the 24 hour time and know whether it was day or night - if you were in a cave for several days exploring or in Antartica for several months.

The current EXP II uses the same movement as the GMT II. The EXP 1 uses the same movement as the Air King and SUB no date.

Easy choice white. I had a GMT with a black dial it showed finger prints on the crystal much more than the white dial of Yatch-Master I have now.

I am starting to think the white makes more sense and it sort of spoke to me more than the black face. Keep your opinions coming. I like reading them and will make a decision soon enough. What do you guys think of buying on Ebay? And what do you think is a fair price for a preowned one.

The Exp-II is probably not as popular and sought after as the Subs and the GMT-IIs. So you could probably beat the AD around a bit and get him down at least 15% off the list price.

It really all boils down to where you live and who your AD is.

Good luck, my friend......and do keep us updated.

JJ
