Deep Sea & Iron Man...an interesting pair...

I'm in full GEEK mode today...I picked up a Iron Man #1 this week and almost completed 1-10 this week...

I finally got around to making shelves to display my comic book collection from when I was a kid. Some great books...

Not sure if any guys love the old comic books but here is my Deep Sea with some of the Iron Man collection...

Enjoy!

I have to admit that I thought "Iron Man" was a recent Hollywood creation. Obviously I wasn't exposed to comics much as a child.

I have been collecting my entire life and still drop by the shop every wednesday to get my new books! I don't have too many classic issues so seeing almost the complete first ten of Iron Man is sweet... I could see Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark wearing one of these beauties in Iron man 2.

Iron Man would be a typical DSSD wearer.

Can't believe they put a bvulgari on his wrist in the movie...

Now if you had Sub-mariner #1 with a rolex submariner..then you'd be in full geek mode.

Have to tip my hat to your Iron man #1, but I'll always be a DC guy..

Great pix - I'm a watch and comic book fan, especially Marvel from the 1960s and 70s.

If I remember correctly Iron Man was originally grey when Stan Lee first conceived of the character (just like the Incredible Hulk was, before they changed him to green). Like all Marvel superheroes, he had to have a weakness, which in his case was a piece of shrapnel near his heart that could kill him if he didn't regularly recharge his costume's batteries. Sorry, but I can't recall where he made his first appearance - was it Journey into Mystery?

By the way, I'm also a Deepsea wearer!

Iteresting, I remember someone remarking that the solid SS EXP II looked like the kind of watch Superman would wear and I kinda liked that link and Agree.

Count me in - I'm a comic fan with a pretty large collection of Marvel and DC Comics, collected from when I was a kid in the 70's (an added to a litle since then).

A Deep Sea is surely the watch that Tony Stark/ Iron Man would have worn.

How about some speculation on likely watch models worn by comic book characters ?

Weird...

There must be a comic book forum somewhere where you could share your excitement - don't get me wrong, I love comic books but to share my love of image filled books online at my age would be and feel weird...

Sorry but why post this? Didn't anyone ever tell you...if you don't have something nice to say...be quiet?

Seriously, I think anyone who still says Dude (or use it as their name) should be smoking a doobie and hanging out at the mall arcade.

Doesn't feel good huh?

Plus, isn't it "weird" that we cherish wathes like they are so important?

Fact is, our love for rolex is the same as someone who collects comic books, guitar gear, amplifiers, beanie babies, baseball cards, etc

anyway, I don't think it's weird and others don't think so either.

Whatever...

Yes it is! I also plan on owning it one day. I own a few tales of suspense comics but I want 39 badly....just as much as I want the Panda Daytona TT

I really want a TT Daytona with the Panda or Newman dial...
