Stupid Question - Sorry
Apologies in advance but what are the main differences between say an Air King (114200) and an Oyster perpetual (116034)?
Looking for an elegant cheaper Rolex to maybe start the collection. Thanks |

I have been looking but most of the dealers seem to be in the USa. I've hoping to pick up a new ceramic sub date sometime in Juky /August but also fancy a plain and simple Rolex and like the 114200 . I'd be happy to pick up an older used model for a lot less cash :0)

The name 'Air King' comes down from a line of watches Rolex started during the period around WW2. It is said to have been popular among British pilots then, but I do not know how true this actually was. But you're right, in the modern line up, it and the Oyster Perpetual basically look the same. Not sure but maybe the current Oyster Perpetual is slightly larger, they were the same size (34mm ?) until a few years ago.
