One lost , two gained ?
Well it is official now . I had my 1992 Fat Boy for sale at a garage since the beginning of the year . The garage keeper just called me to say that he has received the money in full .
My bike has been a true friend for over 15 years ( I bought it second hand from a good friend ) It was originally bought in Gibraltar , had UK plates , Belgian ,Portuguese plates , Spanish plates , French plates and now again Spanish plates .... 4 different color schemes and only 23K original miles . I must have put on 2000 K over the last 4 years and it was really ridiculous to insure it every year and pay the road taxes just for that . I have plenty of friend that will borrow me their bike if I really want to go for a ride one day . Still I'll miss it ... good memories I'm looking at the bright side : The money will go towards a couple of vintage Rolex watches .. I guess people like Steven M. will benefit of that Found some pictures : In Yellow with customized painting when in the south of Spain ( wife , son and yes the bassets ) and in grey as it was sold ( just had to replace the Santee exhaust to get if trough MOT ) |

Yeah, I know what you mean Tristan. Bikes have a way of becoming long-standing companions and it is sad when you let them go. But 23,000 miles on a '92? My '07 BMW K1200GT is turning over 26,000 this week and we are setting off on a 4,000 mile trip in two weeks.
No matter, enjoy the hunt for your vintage pieces!

Indeed Brian , I have had this remark so many times . Must admit I'm a "lounge biker" one drop of rain and I stayed in , sore rear end after 200K ( normal on a Fat Boy ) I had the whole break system changed ( front and back calipers , disk , leads the lot ) as it scared the hell out of me each time I wanted to stop ... they don't !. When I put it up for sale the man in the garage asked me where the original speedo was

Great looking bike, I'd have struggled to sell it. Guess I'd rather the rolies though!

I recently got a 1601 from Steven to with my DJ2 Now I'll be looking in the 1675-16710/50 line to match my 116710LN and a 5513 -16600 sub or a SD to go with my SDDS ultimately a 62XX-16520 with the 116520 . I guess with the Harley money I can get something resonable in the GMT/SUB section the Daytona bit I may need to sell a kidney or two first |

The house with the views was in the south of Spain ( mountains above Nerja )We no longer live at that house , we sold that one in 2004 . We live now in the north of Spain not far from Barcelona . Similar views , maybe not that spectacular .
