Don't give up hope. I am sure someday you would own one if you want it bad enough.

Welcome to TRF. I had a picture of the SS Sub above my desk for over a year... saved every paycheck for it and everyone in my office knew it was my goal. Then I had some unexpected expenses and the "Rolex fund" was gone. Saved again and had my first Rolex!! It was almost as exciting as buying my first car. Good luck, save some $$$ and maybe find a nicely used model to get you going. -Pete

If you hang around here in TRF, I'm almost certain you'll find a way to fund that first ROLEX......Good luck

I have the opposite problem. My wife wants to get me a Rolex for my upcoming 50th B-day . . . But she has left the research to me. Hence my lurking on this site.

There are some real Rolex bargains out there....
A good friend of mine just got a 6694 Oyster-Date - It is manual wind but a lovely piece. I think a mint one of those is about $1500-! My explorer was about $2500- ..... so not much more! |

Like everything in live , if you want it you will have to do something for it . Think positive , get out and do some extra hours . Save a bit here and there and you will have soon enough . Keep your priorities right of course , no watch is worth anything if you and your family are starving themselves for you to get it .
Do never get such things on credit neither ! |

I've always sucked at finances. Never balanced my checking account, used my check card for everything and just spent until the wife says "you're accounts low/under".
We've got a good bit of credit card debt at insane interest rates now and it's killing us. Trying for a home equity loan now to get the credit cards off our back and get ourselves back on track. But it was my overwhelming desire for a Rolex and reading this site that's got me getting my finances in order and to start saving money towards a Rolex. I finally sat down, made out a budget, started saving my receipts and balancing my checking and putting money aside each payday into a savings account. I've got about $100 in my "Rolex account" so far. It's not much but it's a start and symbolic to me of getting my sh*t together and actually saving for something I want and not pulling out the credit card. Good luck! |
