keep trying to get some insight in the 'watchout' forum...
...and my post must not be passing the test.
does anyone have any insight into the authenticity of this watch? the seller has several watches for sale, but my untrained eye doesn't know what to look for. i have been wanting to buy a watch for awhile, but i'm nervous about ebay after reading about all of the problem listings in the watch out area of this board. http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-Watch-Mens...ht_4235wt_1139 any help or opinions on the watch and the deal would be gladly accepted. |

I have that same watch with a blue dial and engine turned bezel. that dial is definitely real but you have got to buy the owner not the watch because there are too many fakes out there. anyway my blue date was my first rolex and i will never sell it. its awesome. in my opinio and knowledge it is real from this pic. whats the price?

Couple of recent negative feedbacks from customers buying watches. Additionally, he makes wise-ass comments in response to the negative feedback, which to me is a bad sign.

How about this... Stay away from fleabay and look at the sellers here on TRF. It is under the For Sale Section. If you dont see what you want, contact via PM BodyBump, DavidSW, JustRolexes... Some of the folks you will see alot of positive feedback on and they will get it for you.
You will not have to give authenticity a 2nd thought... Why ANYONE would ever consider purchasing a Rolex from ebay is beyond me... This is the best advise one can give you, if you dont like this, go to an AD and purchase new or buy at your own risk. Folks here are not going to authenticate a watch picture from EBAY for you... ever think of this... The picture of the watch on EBAY may not even be what they send you, could be a different watch... Again why take this risk?

I'm no expert. That said, it looks legit.
All pics are detailed, doesn't have the usual "I got this as a present, and don't know much about watches, etc", the seller has sold a lot of high end watches to happy customers. He is a brick and mortar establishment. The price isn’t too good. I do not see any flags. Albeit, the seller is a bit of smart alec (with my experience dealing with customer on eBay it does take incredible composure at times). He looks honest. Hopefully a TRF’er from the Naples area could chime in who has been to his store. Give the guy a call he has his phone number for his establishment. PS: I've bought and sold on eBay, rarely "buy" but "sell" often. At the same time as selling on eBay I offer on TZ and TRF for 6% under eBay price. Some of the established sellers here on TRF also use eBay. It is another medium to sell.

X2 Also if your not sure now you will always question if you got ripped so don't even go down that path no matter what the price. Use the trusted sellers here. Spend the extra for piece of mind. |

They are very legit. I've been to the store several times. The owner is a nice guy and they carry a good selection of jewels/watches.
