Question about Submariner face text

Hello all, I'm sorry if this question has been answered before, but I could not find the topic by searching.

My question is I have noticed that submariner faces have both swiss made, and swiss below the 6 hour mark on the face, are they both correct, or does one signify a fake. Thank you in advance for the help.

That's a good question. I actually checked into this recently myself. The ones that say "swiss" only are pre-1998ish. "swiss made" is on the 1999 and newer. The even earlier ones you'll see say "T swiss T". As far as authenticity, like anyone else will tell you take to an AD to check it out.

I believe the "Swiss" dials represent the A series. AFAIK, that dial was only issued during the A series...sort of a transitional dial. I think Rolex also issues them as service dials.

Ok cool. I bought my Sub from a licensed dealer about 10-12 years ago and it just has "Swiss" at the bottom. Seems like all pictures I can find have "swiss made" so I was a bit concerned. Thanks for the into.
