thanks guys.. keep the comments coming!

just had a couple of thoughts -

- new EXPII next year? with orange 24hr hand/new case?

- current GMTIIC design will probbaly last another 5 - 10 years, except the possibility of pepsi/coke ceramic bezel models

so, based on that, what do you say?

Both are fantastic watches but if only one then GMT IIC.

I like the rotating bezel feature for two time zones.

If it's just dual time zone, Exp. also offers this...

New case??

Is a new case a certainty and if so will it be the fatter one?

How do people feel this will impact the desirability for the older generation EXP IIs when the new version comes out?

I personally prefer the existing slimmer EXPII case nor would I want a large watch, but many do?

3 words G.M.T. I love the EXPII but if I had to choose GMT of any form wins with me. Optimal word being ME. Pick what you like, just like what some wise guy here told me "you will end up with both" so don't fight it.

Nice shots, Chris!

I'm sure the GMT is more popular from a sales standpoint, but both are outstanding watches. Get both I say.

Popularity GMT IIc. That is the one of the reasons I like the Explorer II. Great watch and on the used market it is the best value of any Rolex sport watch. It should also depend on your collection. If you have other bezel model Rolex sport models like a sub, it is nice to have something different. Lastly, I like a less recognizable Rolex when I put it to use for its intended purpose of travel. If I only had one Rolex.... GMT IIc all the way; else, Exp II.

EXP II..all the way...

For so many reasons!
I find the numbers on the bezel of the GMTIIC too large and too crowded and a distraction from the face where the EXPII is perfectly proportional to my eyes!

For me, as I've said many times before, the GMT IIc is my perfect modern Rolex. The Explorer II, to my eyes at least, looks a little dated - in my experience, this is reflected in sales as well, the GMT IIc far outsells the Explorer II

i have compared the exp2 and gmt2c before buying. i chose the gmt2c. it had more presence. though as there was no difference in function.

im not hating the exp2 but i think the gmt2c will be a go to rolex watch

GMTIIC is more popular but I think the EXP II looks nicer ... I thought about getting the GMT but it looked too big for my wrist so I went with expII , and saving 2K helps :)

I think I would choose the Exp 2 with a white dial. Probably my next one.
