Explorer II for Panerai 164

Guys, do you think that I should trade my Explorer II for a Panerai 164?

well, it's an Explorer II Black Dial (Z series) and it's for a Panerai 164 L series.

Would it still be a good deal if I had to add money to it? Some people say that Rolex is definitely above Panerai in terms of movement. I wonder how these two perform in terms of that?

Welcome to TRF! What condition are each of the watches in. Do they have boxes & papers?

they are both in good condition. The panerai was just purchased not so long ago 2 months ago, while the rolex was purchased in 2008 and in real good condition.

they both have box and papers.

No

But you should get a panerai, and keep your explorer II. Unless you have an extensive rolex collection and no PAM. I"ve had PAMs and Rolexes and trading one for the other doesn't make sense. That being said, do whatever you can do to get a 233, with the old am/pm indicator.

I wouldn't trade me Exp-II for any amount of PAMs.

That is a pretty good deal..but Panerais have only been "in fashion" somewhat recently.
No idea long term (think 20 years or so) how values will hold though!

Whereas with the EXP II...

If you like the 164 that's the most important thing. Personally I think the 164 is a bit of sleeper. Such a unique dial.

Try to acquire the Pam without selling or trading your Exp II. You'll end up regretting it down the road. Exp II is a classic beauty.
