My first Rolex story...
Of little consequence, but thought I'd share...
For most of my life I've thought Rolexes were cool, and a few times over my adult life I've looked at them here and there... even tried one on many, many years ago... with two thoughts... "wow, that's a big and heavy watch", and "wow, not sure if I'll ever really care to spend that much on a watch...even as cool as it is." Career-wise, I was doing pretty darn good working for someone else... by my standards at the time anyway.... best money I had ever made, solid company, working with very good people. And then... I literally stumbled on a biz opportunity that I couldn't resist... so after 18 months of indecision and working this opportunity part time, I quit my job and started my own biz, fulltime now. Somewhere in there go re-aquainted with a friend (who was doing very well), noticed his very nice Sub (I think!).... Got me thinking... when/if I hit this certain income goal (which exceeded what I was earning at the "good" job I left), I'm going to buy myself a watch like THAT. (Pretty sure his is a Sub, but I wouldn't bet too much on it.) Anywho... in my third year of full time biz right now, and hit that annual number that I was after by the end of July... SOOOO.... reward time. I came to this forum to learn... and that I did, pretty much from many, many, many threads... and pm'd with a few very nice and knowledgable sellers who I appreciate very much. I wanted a daily wearer, and I really "work" often... so to me, buying used was the obvious answer to me... and I have a relatively small wrist, so the old-skool style seemed right for my wrist... so our friend Jacek in San Francisco fixed me up. Next goal? Avoid the watch addiction that most of you seem to suffer from... Thanks again for the help, everyone. obligatory pics (well, more like snapshots in my case) |

Congrats on completing your goal and it's reward.
The addiction? You'll be as weak as the rest of us. dP

Nice Sub..wear it in good health.
The difficult part now is to "Avoid the watch addiction that most of you seem to suffer from... The only medication for it is to purchase additional Rolex. Which one is next on your list? |

The Sub classic looks great. Good luck and more success with your business. If you hang around the TRF, addiction is inevitable.
