submariner confusion

i went to my ad dealer today.i bought a gmt pepsi.i love it.they had it in a safe.he sold it to me because he is a friend of mine.claims they will appreciate quickly.any way i left his store and went to the mall.there is another ad dealer there.we got into talking about limited watches.he showed me a submariner 14060 no date no chrono writting,i beleive it was a z series.is the m series the one that has the chrono rating?he claimed that the no date sub is keeping the same look.i know that i this forum 2 people have told me that the no date no chrono will be sought after in a few years.if this is true i will buy it.he has it on hold for me with a small deposit.is this watch already redesigned, and should i add it to me collection.please help, thanks.also what should i pay for this watch.

It's difficult to read through your writing..

If I read correctly you are asking if the 14060M "Z" series non COSC Sub would be a collectible piece and have they changed it.

The answer is maybe, and yes.

A bunch of 14060M Subs have been sold over the years, but they remain a very popular model. The latest ones have the Chronometer printed dial and the etched rolex rehaut...some late Z's and M's.. although M's can be found without...

It's possible that if they redesign the ND Sub, then the COSC models wil be 'transitionals' and in a few years will probably be a must have for collectors.

But it is also possible that the "Z" clean dial, since it is the last run for this dial; it might become the darling of collectors.

Hard to say....that's what speculation is all about.

Well, both watches are wonderfull references with great histories. Having said that, consider both are long lived references with many many examples made.
No one can predict what watch will be the "hot star" of tomorrow. Better to buy the watch because you like it rather than speculate what might happen down the road.

However, in answer to you question, consider that there are those that say the 16710 and/or the 14060 and M will be collectors pieces with the millions of examples out there and yet feel "there's just to many LVs " in existence to make them collectable.

As Mike said, watches, even Rolex make a poor investment choice. Buy a watch because you like it, you will like wearing it, and it brings you happiness. If it maintains or increases in value, that's an added bonus, but not a realistic expectation.

There's no harm in using capitals, spaces between sentences and even a paragraph here and there.

I'm sure your question is important but I couldn't make it through the first line or two.

Buy the watch you want to wear. Invest your money elsewhere.

I totally agree. Buy because you want to wear it.

I like to wear my Rolex watches just for the sheer pleasure they give me.
