My girlfriend humors my madness

SO my girlfriend Kelsey was with me when I was running around Boston shop to shop looking for a good deal on a Submariner. She was such a sport and she seemed to enjoy the hunt as much as I did. I am guessing she mostly enjoyed the arrogant sales people ignoring me [I left the suit and GMT at home on purpose].

I finally narrowed it down and purchased one and I bet she thought that would be the last she heard about it.....

Well......

I've been talking about the watch for the last few weeks [Since I got it] and I was explaining to her [She calls it my new shiny] how fast the date changes over. Since the Sub was new to me I felt the need to educate her on Rolex movements compared to cheaper/other movements. She was curious and wanted to try and see if she could see it shift and hear the click I mentioned. I had it regulated and noticed the time it shifts is a little later now. Because of this the first two nights we missed it, she was so pissed hahaha.. she's a real sport!

So we decided last night we would watch the watch from 12:00AM onward.. until we saw it.. trying not to blink!

...So there we were.. for a minute and 20 seconds.. just.. looking at the watch not blinking.. Hahahahaha..I would try and distract her and she would get mad... and *CLICK* she was so excited about it.. 'WOW, that was amazing!' (She says that a lot.. )

I thought it was great she actually humored my interests... I think she gets a kick out of how excited I get out of the things I am into.. it's refreshing because I always dated girls that could not care less..Hell I married one once.

I know what your thinking... 'Why not just set it ahead and watch it whenever?'.. Well, because it's been running 7 or so days without me setting it and it's been only 0.5-+2 a day! I want to see how much it is ahead next month!

PS: When she calls me she actually asks me how my watch is doing

Figured I'd share with you folks how happy I was she got such a kick out of the quest.

pps:Sorry about the run ons etc, long day, I wanted to post before I passed out.. haha..

Does your wife know about your g/f Kelsey?

I share the same relationship with my g/f. She is infatuated with watches of all kinds now. My Monaco hasn't left her wrist.

Depends one what you like best.

Checking the accuracy of your Rolex or an early night.

You answered the question.

My wife just tolerates my habit... She has become slightly more interested in watches after I got her a Lady DJ this year, but thats as far as it goes.

Sounds like she's a keeper. My wife humors my madnesses too.
The good ones will, they don't have to understand, just accept.

Indeed.. I guess I should explain that my ex wife was more of a happy hippy crunchy girl and I was sorta Mr. Businessman.. While we wanted for nothing she always acted like every dollar was in crisis for some reason.. [I grew up poorer then she did, so that's no excuse] So when I wanted to treat myself she would really go all out to make me feel bad about it, etc...

When we had our daughter it just got worse. When she had the best man.. I sorta had enough

All jokes and my life story aside.. I am glad my current girlfriend is pleased with whatever makes me smile... oh, and that she is not interested in my former best man.
