quick question

Hi All-

I was wondering today, is it bad for a watch if it is not worn (does it somehow dry up inside)? For example I have a seadweller that has been sitting in my drawer for quite some time.

Thanks!

I would imagine that at some point in time the oils may migrate away from their optimum location and then the metal parts would be "dry". However, the new synthetic oils will remain viable for years, unlike the older fossil oils that had volatiles mixed in them to keep them fluid. These old volatiles would evaporate out and the fossile oil would get gummy... not any more.......

Mine that sit in the bank, I go and wind at least once a month to move the oils around. Not sure if it does anything, but it makes me feel better.
