Gap between crown and case

I recently purchased a 16750 GMT. Love the watch and the seller was fantastic to work with. I've noticed that their is a very very small gap (probably 1-2 threads at most) between the crown and case in the closed position. I'm used to seeing this with other Rolex watches. I remember the selling telling me that a new gasket was installed by his watchmaker. Does the new gasket need time to compress with age to fit properly, and is this why I have a small gap. If this is the case, why don't new watches from factory have this gap? Don't they have new gaskets? I really don't think anything is wrong enough to take to a watchmaker, I'm just curious.

I also can't take a picture of it becasue it's that small of a gap, and i have a crappy camera.

I understood that with a good gasket there should always be a small gap. If there is metal to metal contact (not good) then the gasket definitely needs replacing.

All mine have small gaps here.
