Sand under bezel?

Hello...

Spending some holiday time in the largest sand desert (empty quarter). Nearly died getting to the to of a sand dune with the sun beating down on me (also see over weight and unhealthy).

Point is I lay on the sand to get some rest. When I got home I washed the watch (GMT IIC) well however I can hear a faint grinding sound when I turn the bezel. Can sand actually get under the bezel? What should I do?

The bezel does turn properly, it's not stuck. Also the watch is working fine.

Just pop the bezel off, clean it and pop it back on....

take it to your AD and they can give it a kick blow for you...

Thought about going to the AD, but washed it again with lots of hand soap and a very soft toothbrush and it seems to have done the trick.

Is it easy to remove the bezel ?

If you think sand is still trapped inside, you may look to clean it with the bezel off. Sand can scratch your case, and become trapped under the rings inside.

Best to have it removed if your not able too.

It is super easy to pop off! Just put a knife blade between the bezel and the case and apply gentle pressure - it pops right off! Tape your lugs if you are nervous about scratches, and you're good to go!

Running water and liquid soap while rotating the bezel is the answer............

When you live in a Desert, you get used to it... otherwise you would be taking bazels off and on every week........
