I assume that many of the people that are saying the DJ is too small wear a 40mm watch most days? I wear a Panerai the majority of the time and I have zero trouble throwing on the DJ on a whim and wearing it.

There is no adjustment period when I put it on, just a smile. I used to always make the too small comment, but I really don't agree with that anymore, especially with the new style case. My case style is the old one, but feels perfect on my just at 7.5 wrist.

I decided I wanted to keep mine flawless so I have it sitting and spinning as I wear my Alpha Newman

yeah i agree....i can switch from a 36mm explorer to a 44mm panerai with no hang-over..!...:)

On Saturday I left my 1970 DJ (s/n 276....) with my local jeweller for an adjustment (it was running +12to15). His watchmaker rang me today to check if it was under warranty before he opened it. Not bad for a 35 year old.

I ain't a lover of the brick on your wrist. I much prefer the 'dress watches'.
Nice and simple and not to 'in your face'.
Just me knowing its a rolex is good enough.

I think a SS DJ is a must in any collection.

I don't think that price increases for Rolex are going to deter buyers from sports models. As I see it, if someone wants one he/she is going to bite the bullet and pony up the additional dollars, yen, drachmas, whatever, to make the purchase.

To me, the Rolex sports lineup represents one segment of the market while the DJ is another, both beautiful in their own right but attract for different reasons. Hacking around at the club, out on the water, or just messing around, the Sub's at home. Cleaned up and out to dinner, the DJ fills the bill quite nicely. I guess the best of both worlds would be to own one (or more) of each as some of our members do, but I don't see purchase price being the deciding factor in which Rolex type to buy.

The jubilee clasp is a lot nicer than any sub clasp I have seen. I am 6'3" and 220lbs and I do not mind the 36mm case size. I think that the case to band size is more proportional to the watch than the sports models too. I tried on someone else's sub once and the band looked tiny in comparison to the case. It looked a little awkward on with a small bracelet.

I kind of want a sub, which is why I try them on, I just can't force myself to buy it lol.
