I definitely prefer to have the date but nowadays nearly everyone has a mobile phone with the date on it. I grew up having dates on my watches so I would certainly feel weird not having it on the watch.

Sent from my Evo using Tapatalk. Excuse my brevity.

How difficult is it to remember the current date? 30 years ago, we did not have computers, cell phones, etc.

My wife always forgets to put her watch on the winder - she NEVER charges her cell phone. So, I am aways stuck with setting the date on her watch. Is it 12am or midnight? - a bit of a hassle.

My ND Sub is clutter-free and I prefer the symmetry and balance of the face. One look at the date in the morning and it somehow sticks with me the rest of the day.

I am a pharmacist and I have to date a lot of paperwork, called in prescriptions, etc. I've owned my No Date Sub for 2 months now and it has become my daily wearer. Don't miss the date feature at all.

BUT I like/wear my Rolex so much that it has not stopped ticking since the day I put it on. So, if I did have the date feature, the only time I'd have to adjust it would be at the end of each short month.

Just a personal preference of course, but I simply love the clean, symmetrical face of the no date watches.

I have 2 that don't have the date (Exp 1 and 14060), but the other 4 do (GMT II, 16610, SD and 116200 DJ). I find the date to be very convenient.

No. And I would be happy to trade my 1601 DJ for a 14060

It really comes down to a how often you need it. If you're signing alot of paperwork, it's awfully handy to have that date on your wrist.

I definately need the date: even if I remember it, I'm always afraid I'd remember the wrong date.

I love the convenience of having the date function on my rollie...a quick flick of the wrist and I know the date.

It's a matter of preference....

Based on what you said, you need a watch
with a date function. You best be very sure
before you opt for a no date model!

For myself, I could go either way, though I do
have a bias to no date models.

Honestly, no one really needs a date function, unless that person has dementia.

It's a preference and a very valid one to be sure.

If you prefer to look at your wrist for the date, cellphones, calendars, or other methods won't do, but it is entirely possible in the modern world to go about one's business without the date on the wrist.

If you even think that you'll miss the date feature, don't even think of buying a $6000+ watch that doesn't have the date.

You'll really hate yourself, I'm sure.

I have a bunch with date and a bunch without. Truth is, I never set the date and I use my computer or phone whenever I can't remember the date. When I buy the sub I'll do so w/o date as I'm not a fan of the cyclops.

It's simple for me...

Fridays and Weekends = wearing a watch with no date!

BTW, I love the set & go aspect of a No Date, which for me means a Speedy Pro or PAM 111.

No problemo.

If that doesn't work - you have a mobile phone.

This is one of Rolex's best 'big dial' watches.

I like having the date, but not a deal breaker either way if I like the watch.

Do people who need the date also need reminding of the weekday?

Why not go all the way and get a Day-Date?

I am thinking my next purchase will be a Sub Nd, but i really do use the date on my Expo II when doing paperwork but as been said there are loads of other ways to check the date......

Maybe I could put up a calender in my office :)

I can't say I really need the date function on my watches but part of me kind of likes it to be there. The one thing I do wish Rolex would do is drop the cyclops!
