What are you suggesting? That this photo is doctored up to show him with a Rolex that didn't exist back then? He seems to be wearing something with a maxi case and a black bezel. It looks like the old style GMT II to me. I highly, highly doubt that Rolex would have gone out of their way to supply a convicted felon with a watch before it even premiered to the general public. And, seeing as it only premiered in the spring of '06, he'd have had to be up giving speeches at a podium some time between then and his death in July of tha tyear. Something tells me that it's the older style watch in the pic.

I also recall seeing photos of him in a YG DD.

The shadow on the little hand of the watch is aligned in the wrong direction when you compare it to the shadow of his hand. The photo must have been forged to frame Lee Harvey Oswald...

I think it will depend on what kind of the suit (i.e. fit, style and etc.) you are wearing.
I would say daytona or a SS date just with jubilee band like Speed's posted above.

Um, I may be in the minority here- but IMHO the Rolex 'Prince' in WG looks really sharp with a suit.

I have to agree...something about the 'ruggedness' of the 40mm 'professional' models seem clumsy (just my opinion) with a suit. Might as well wear trainers and a G-Shock with your suit.

Anyway, some will go better than the others, and, IMHO, the best dress watch is Datejust with fluted bezel, and Jubilee bracelet!
And YG Day-Date with President bracelet, of course!

A white dialled DJ is very nice, and would be my choice, although I enjoy wearing any Rolex with a suit. (I prefer the ExII with a suit, compared to the sub).

I would either go for an older 16200 on Oyster bracelet (super classic with the practical sapphire crystal), or a brand new 116200 on Jubilee, since I like the contrast between the smooth bezel and the very, very nice jubilee bracelet on the latest style.

Surprised not many votes for the Explorer I. Not to hijack this thread completely, but I'm debating between a sub ND or Explorer I. I usually wear a shirt/tie to work, or with a sweater. Occasionally I'll wear a suit as well. Thoughts on which is more versatile for this type of wardrobe?

Any Rolex would look good in a suit. IMO.

Almost any DJ or TOG. Both can be made a little less sporty looking by putting them on a gator strap, too. If you spend a bunch of time in a suit, consider the all gold or two-tone DJ's. I prefer the TT for wear with jeans, though.

I wear my SS Sub Date all the time with a suit. Just picked up this Cellini Danaos 4239/9 WG/RG "bulls-eye" dial. Looks sharp with a suit.

I have been convinced, on this forum, that any watch goes now. But, for the money, I loved the (couldn't tell which) Aquanaut/Nautilus on a black strap that Sir Paul McCartney wore on Fallon the other night. It was a classic look with a casual suit.

Oh, yea - I know they aren't Rolexes. But for a Rolex and a suit, I don't think there is a wrong choice.
