I think its 25 years makes it a classic. Don't know about vintage though.

I think it's 30+ years as sapphire crystals made it in 1979-1980.

I believe, like some of the other posts here, that acrylic crystals on back are vintage. I would also place the 16800, 168000 and GMT 16760 in the vintage category. I believe the Zenith movement Daytonas might also be considered vintage as well as a few other sapphire crystal models.

I think 4 digits covers it for me--much of the rest are features of a 4 digit watch. By the time this subject is posted again it might change--nahhhh I doubt it--not in a few weeks!

is 16030 considered as vintage? mine has acrylic crystal with hollow middle links. i cant really remember when my watch was produced, i don't want to remove the bracelet just to see the production code since i dont have to proper tools. :(

Submariner 16800 production ended around 1986 and was produced for six years, so I would consider this vintage. It also was produced in two dial variations - one with the plain, model 1680-style number markers and the other with the gold trim around the number markers.
