Icon5 Gilt.com 5513 Rolex Submariner circ 1979

Hi all,

I'm a new user but have been an admirer of the Rolex watch for a very long time. I have the opportunity to purchase this 5513 Submariner off Gilt.com for $5300, no tax. It has a nice worn leather strap and appears to be in excellent condition. No papers or box noted, but it does come from a guarantee from Matthew Bain. The full details and pictures are below.

So, what do you think. Is this a good investment/purchase for a first time buyer? I could really use an expert opinion!

Thanks!!

FYI - the sale was curated by hodinkee (http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/2011/2/...-gilt-man.html)
