I'm looking for instructions for tightening the clasp on a new DJ oyster band. The one on my brand new TOG, while it doesn't come undone by itself etc, it could be a little tighter. There's enough wiggle room to make a rather annoying clicking sound and it doesn't take much force to undo the clasp. Is this normal? Is there something I can do to tighten it up? Should I stop by a RSC or AD and have them play with it?

Larry, I took a look at that thread, and it referenced the older style clasp (thin metal, vs thicker metal on mine). Is there any difference in working with the newer versus the older style clasp?

I do not have one of the later heavier bracelets, but I'm going to step out and say that the physics should be the same although execution may be more difficult..

Any adjustment to the blades of the deployant style clasp is going to change the geometry of where the end of the clasp contacts the far end when closed.. And, it does not take much movement at all to affect a large difference at the contact point.

The modern fliplock however, is a completely different principle..

Perhaps somebody with a newer TOG could verify for you.........

On the newer solid style clasp that is a little like the GMT IIc clasp without the flip lock I think you are depending on spring bars or at least a spring in there to hold it shut. Sounds like a replace the defective part solution to me.
