lazer corwn in crystal of my YM

Hi guys i have a early Z serial Yachtmaster. The watch does not have the engraved rehaut (Rolex written on the inner bezel) I bought the watch about 4-5 months ago. I have seen threads of lazered crown in crystal at 6 O'clock position. I have a looked hard enough to know the crown in not present in the crystal. I was able to spot it in my V serial LV which i recently sold. My question is when did Rolex started to have the crown in the crystal.

Started in 2002.
It should be there in your watch.
Perhaps just clean the 6 o'clock area with a clean cloth and look again.

Usually found on replacement crystals so Rolex can tell whether or not it's OEM.

Did you possibly buy the watch secondhand from someone who had it serviced by a person who used aftermarket replacement parts? If it really isn't there, that'd be my best guess.

They are not always at 6:00

I have an Explorer where the LEC is in the 2:00 position.

They are much more difficult to find on a light colored dial watch than the black dials..........

A z should definitely have the coronet......
