Hi

Good-day!

I am a new member and it is hoped, I am accepted in your prestigious forum.

Also, I hope to learn more about Rolex watches and also, other established brand-names, from other respectable members.

For a start (I assume, I am already accepted by members), I would like to know, whether Rolex has ever produced the following:

'ROLEX Oyster Perpetual Date Deep Sea – Pro Hunter Sea Dweller 3900M JACQUES PICCARD EDITION 1922-2008' - supposedly, only a limited number of 86 pieces were made to celebrate the life of Jacques Piccard.

Welcome to the Forum..

Rolex does not produce "Limited Edition" watches for the public to purchase..

The one you mention is a standard Rolex Deep Sea that has been modified and painted by the Pro Hunter company; which is not affiliated with Rolex in any way.. In fact, Rolex will not service or work on one of these modified watches.. It has both fans and detractors..

X2.And will add if you buy such a watch it has no real value in the true Rolex market. And would be more difficult to sell if ever needed and only to those who like the black coating, which is not a huge market like the plain S.steel versions..

The way the description is portrayed, as though it is an original and untouched Rolex. It is rather misleading, to say the least.

I will not even touch a watch, if the dial has been refinished, much less this one - some people do crazy things. I agree the the stainless-steel version is the only one to buy.

There are many ways to look and be different. Paying a mad price for something that has been molested is two stages beyond crazy.

I am blind to the beauty of any watch, not only Rolex, that has been molested, deliberately or otherwise.

Thank God, Rolex will not service any watch that has been modified, however minor, it may be.
