Whenever I fly to the States, I usually go to an Irish pub (or what passes for one) and order a burger with fries and a Guinness. That has a way of helping me go to sleep after a long flight.

I no longer drink when out of the house. I too am designated driver. But when I am at my own bar, that is a different story...my preference is a good single malt, or a nice red wine...

Because in college when you're out with friends, you drink to get drunk. I don't have to sugarcoat it. We're not there to sit around and discuss the current market trends over a glass of expensive scotch.

Usually Guinness. If they don't have it, I'll get whatever looks interesting.

Good lad... It's refreshing to have someone admit the truth! It may not be big, it may not be clever but, for many off us it is sometimes the case!
Enjoy yourself, buddy!

Drinks? One of my other favorite hobbies, does that make me a drunk?

I enjoy a good libation, never met one that I did not like. But with age came wisdom now quality over quantity.

Hot Summer afternoon, Hendricks Gin with splash of tonic
Cold Winter- Grand Marnier or Macallan Amber neat

Dinner with wife- Vodka or Gin Martini as app, Red wine or Beer with dinner.

All nighter drinking- Balvenie scoth neat - doing it up.
Makers Mark 46, with a few chips of ice - when on a budget

Damn I wish the day was over for nice drink.

Depends on the forum, but most of the time I like Canadian whiskey. When funds were tight in the past, I'd get V0 on the rocks with a splash of water. Now I like to dabble in different whiskeys and scotches. Was in Scotland in '09 and went to a few distilleries and many bars, and had quite the gambit of it. They said the "proper" way was with water, no ice, saying the ice "closed" up the flavor and the water "opened" up the flavor.

I still like the rocks, though.

I've given up tequila - that stuff is evil, and makes me do bad stuff.
I'll still mess with rum, at a party usually.
Vodka and I have parted ways too, mostly because of my developed like for whiskey and scotch.

I also really like good wine, especially white. Some of the best I've had was when I was in Spain a few years back. Even their "house" white was awesome at most places. No beer, though.

Wintertime I will drink a Barcardi Limon on the rocks with a splash of diet coke or a good single malt like Macallan 18 year old.

Summertime usually a good organic vodka with tonic and a lime. Aahhhh, refreshing!
