rolex daytona help!!!
i purchased a daytona v series black face brand new two months ago. i showed it to a jeweler to see how much i could get for the watch. He said it was a fake! he took the bracelet off and at the 6'oclock postion it just says STAINLESS STEEL but underneath it has no serial.. is it because this is a newer watch and the serial is engraved on the inside of the dial (6'oclock position)? they stop putting the serials outside the case? the model number checks out at 12'oclock. i had another guy look at it and he took the back apart and told me the movement is real. He said it looked fake as well but when he took it apart he said it should be real cause the movement inside is good. what do you guys think? did i just pay 10gs for a fake? please help thanks.

pics or it never happened.
You said you took it to a jeweler is this an AD do they authorized to sell brand new Rolex watches? If not maybe this person does not have a great deal of experience with Rolex. Same for the other guy is he a certified Rolex watch maker or a guy who know how to take the back off of a watch? Unless he is experienced he too may not be able to tell. Post pics or take it to an AD and you'll get your answer.

I have the serial inside. If you take off the bracelet at 6oclock there is no serial. Does it all have to match with the card? I'm trying to get pics.

Serial should be on the rehaut, but pics would definitely help.

I'm trying to get pics but I didn't get a chance to yet. When the bracelet is off at the 6'oclock it just says stainless steel no serial. I think I just got jerked. Is it suppose to be there? I did buy it from Anaheim jewelry on eBay. He has tons of positive feedback. But it's impossible that no one except for me thinks it's fake? I took it to a pawn shop and then when the guy took off the bracelet and saw no serial he said this is a 100% fake. Does he know what he's talking about? Or in the newer V models there is no serial?

Newer Rolex has the serial engraved on the rehaut and none on the case.
Check this thread out on my V DSSD (pics too) http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=158929
