I've seen pics of the old Explorer on NATO, but has anyone tried the new bigger model on NATO? What are the thoughts on this and if its a good idea, are there any suggestions what to go for?

I have the new Explorer and a nato but no tool to remove the bracelet. Don't fancy using a paper clip to remove it!

I am thinking of doing this....any suggestions on strap type or where to buy in the UK? I'd like to get a few straps as well as the tool i will need for easy change?

Any advice appreciated as always.

I'm afraid I can't help with the tool. Since I've got lug holes I use toothpicks, straightened paperclips, drawing pins etc!

Any decent places in UK? I can get a tool just need to know where to buy straps and what size for 214270? 18 or 20mm?

Cheers Eric. This might sound like a stupid question but just saw a ROlex Nato in another thread. Would that be available from AD or online anywhere?

It's called an Admiralty.

They are notoriously difficult to get but you might get lucky with your AD.

there is an Admiral (i think) strap nato you can buy from RSC, but from memory it costs £35 or something....

Thanks again guy's for the advice. Just gone for a couple from the strap shop and bought the tool as well. Surprising great value actually.

I meant "real bond NATO" ie accurate colours to what Sean wears in Goldfinger as opposed to the plain black and grey stripe touted as a Bond NATO.

NATOs are great!

But if you want authentic Bond, go for the RAF version, preferably in 18mm.

As an aside do you know that there is a school of thought that the Bond of the books wore an Explorer? Of course, I choose not to believe it but there is quite a strong argument...

Yes i think I've heard this before. I like the look of that sub no date too on NATO. If Bond was a WIS I'm sure he had both
