I have been seriously thinking about dropping the ball on a used Patek, this is the model I have been looking at.

Superbly exquisite, Mort. Love those crown guards....and the dial simplicity and aesthetics are excellent. Very dressy too....something you could wear when you are listening to Pavroti at the Opera!!

That looks like the 5107/5127, 36mm inc crown. Its a real beauty though a little too small for my wrist (5196 / 5296 are 38mm).

Buy one with provenance and you just can't go wrong.

Depreciation is not really going to be a factor though servicing costs are a little steep.

I think this strap shows it in its best light. Stunning !!

It is the 1507. The prices are pretty steep from what I have been researching, but still cheaper than most of the new stuff. The service thing is a issue. I have not heard what dollar amount it cost to do a service, but was told it is a whole lot more than a rollie.

I am still in the descision place at the moment. This is a big leap for me if I do it.

You would be looking at $500 for a service plus any parts that would be required. It is the parts that are more expensive than Rolex due to the craftsmanship involved.

BTW I went into my local AD chasing up my new 116710 and tried this baby on my wrist (one on the right). If I hadn't just got the Daytona I would have gone for it. They are considered "under priced" for a Patek complication and at 39.6mm, just perfect.

The main problem is that the watch is just so sophisticated and I am so unsophisticated!

Thats the thing with me, I just got my Cartier two weeks ago today, so I am having a hard time justifying spending this kind of cash on another watch. Especailly this soon.

The 5107 is probably my most favorite non-complicated PP watch.
The 5107 is no longer made, the bezel is flatter than the 5127 which is the current replacement model.
They sell for around $10,000 used and I can only say you would be very fortunate to own this watch as it is quality through and through. They have a display back too.
They also come in white gold with a silver dial and platinum with a black dial (about twice the price but I love the black dial).

That is what has drawn me to the 5107, I originally have been looking at a 5119R but I would prefer one that is an auto and have a date. But it will all depend on the condition and price on which one I buy.I have found a couple of the 5107's but only from on line dealers. For that kind of money I really need to see it first hand. All the online dealers do offer an approval period if it is not up to par.

Seller has both Patek straps, black and brown. Was serviced Mar 06. I cant believe I just did this.

How much is one of these go for nowadays? I'll pick the black dial anyday. Geez, that's a gorgous watch!! I hate to think how much to get this baby fixed if it ever breaks down. I guess when it does, for sure it will have to go back to the AD for repairs.
