Differences between YG DDII and Platinum DDII...

So, I've been doing some research on the DDII line and I've noticed something, both in pictures and in person at a few AD's, that no one can answer. Hopefully some of the experts can weigh in.

The size of each day's lettering on the "Day" function is different on the Platinum then it is on the YG model - they seem to be more spread out on the Platinum version too. At first I thought it was just because one watch was set to Wednesday and the other Friday (The Friday would obviously be bigger as it has less letters...) But then I compared two watches both set to Friday. Take a look...

What gives?

On the DDI the size (especially the width) of the lettering varies so that each day fills the window nicely.

I know, that's why I thought it would be the same on the DDII. But it's clearly different on the YG DDII and the Platinum DDII. Anyone have any thoughts?

Where is the picture of the YG DD from?

Are you sure it's legit?

It's from eBay. I wondered about that too though. But here's another gold DDII, this time in WG, with Friday displayed in the day window. Same thing...smaller than the Friday on the Platinum DDII...

Hmm, strange indeed?

You would think they use the same day wheel regardless of case material!

The pictures on the Rolex site make it appear that the day fills the windows on the YG DDI just like the regular YG DD does. No difference from the Platinum at all.

I would trust the Rolex site before I'd trust a pic on eBay.
