Went to an AD and was surprised...
I stopped by an AD yesterday while I was shopping for a suit. I was wearing my 14060 on an olive NATO that garnered a lot of attention. Even the security guard commented on how "cool" my strap was!
 I tried on both black and while dial ExplorerII's, a white Milgauss, a Milgauss GV, and a GMTII-C. They were ALL beautiful...but I was shocked at how much I loved the GMT. The case was great, the maxi-dial was great, the hands were great...EVERYTHING was great! I've always leaned towards the curmudgeon side of the scale...but I was pleasantly surprised by the GMT. I think, in the end...I simply love ALL Rolex watches!

The new cases such as gmt and subc really need to be seen on the wrist; the photos, especially the straight on catalogue photos) do not do them justice.

agreed guys! i too fell pretty hard for rolex. and this coming from a former hater. something about their style, fit and timeless appeal really sings to me.

I think why I loved the GMT so much is because it's NOT a Sub.
What I mean is that I really like vintage Subs (hence my 14060). There's something about the SubC that seems sacrilegious with the date, fat lugs, bigger crown guards, etc. But for me, I guess I'm OK with changes to the GMT. The GMTC is great...but leave my Sub alone! Weird but true... :)
