Hi all. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this topic. I just purchased my second Rolex in exactly 30 days from the same person George AB. His service was so amazing for my first Rolex (Polar Explorer II) that I contacted him for my second (16622 Yacht-master). I am super excited to get this watch. I don't think I will "Cheat" on George going forth, such a solid seller with great products and amazing service. Even if another piece caught my eye, I think I would contact George to get it for me!

Do you "Cheat?" If you are a "Cheater" do you feel bad after?

So with this logic you would always have to use the same Realtor/Lender/Car Salesperson??? I would not look at this as "cheating"... I have a few sellers I use quite frequently and do not look at it as "cheating" using one over the other

Actually, YES. My realtor has got me a couple homes, and I purchase the same brand of car so no need for another sales man. Now that I am loving Rolex, I got my guy George!

If I can get the identical product from another reputable source cheaper, that's not cheating, it's smart shopping.

I would think most people do "shop around" whether it be an AD, or other sellers here on TRF. I don't feel there is anything to feel bad about. I would definately give my trusted seller the 1st opportunity to earn my business, but I dont think you should feel bad if purchased elsewhere. Paul

based on the OP analogy, yes, i am a very bad guy. i "cheat" with those who can give me the best prices

i got to admit, i am a very price sensitive person, with no loyalty towards any one salesperson/company. unless, they offer something different, only then, will i consider not switching

There are many people who build a "relationship" with a sales assistant, whether in Rolex or other luxury material. I would patronize anyone who served me well before, if it helps the other person and myself at the same time. If a given transaction is not going to do that, self-interest helps me find a better avenue.

Nothing wrong with a little friendly competition amoungst our trustee TRF grey dealers. I think it's healthy for business and keeps everyone happy. Plus it keeps the market in check so I don't see this as cheating. More like making more friends. LOL

The OP's post reminds me of the King of The Hill episode where Hank always went back to the same car dealer and the same salesperson. Hank thought he was getting a special deal, even though he always paid retail.

But to answer the OP's question, I don't see purchasing from other sellers as "Cheating", in the end it's "Your" hard earned money. Whomever you can trust and gives you the better price, you should buy from.

I look at it as doing business with somebody I like and trust. These 2 factors are always more important to me than price. Somebody will always be cheaper when you are price shopping anything. As long as the price is fair (not always the cheapest) and I trust and like them I am happy and it makes for a good relationship in anything.

I'm a mercenary when it comes to shopping.

All else being equal, price wins.

I fully expect sellers to be the same. :)

Well stated. Just because the price is the lowest, does not mean it is the best deal.
