I thought that was the gas cap... How often do you have to fill it? What's your MPG (minutes per gallon)? Now that's a tool watch.

Robb, it certainly did! To this day I can still see the vision of it sinking down as I tried swim after it but the life jacket kept from reaching it. By the time I stripped the jacket off it was gone.
We marked the spot as best we could with the anchor and line tied to the life jacket. Went back to the house got my scuba gear (I had just set the mooring for the season so had it with me) and made a dive for it. Went down the anchor line in about 60' to find a very soft silty bottom. Did some circular search patterns using another line tied into the anchor looking for depressions in the silt and feeling around in them to see if it was the watch. I am not a big guy but I could easily get the length of my arm into the silt without much effort. Needless to say I did not locate it. The worst part the sub was a gift. My SD is also a gift but I have become wiser with age. |
