Oops! Liam Neeson gets a Rolex DEEPSEA as a gift........in 2006?

Hello,

My wife and I just saw Liam Neeson's new flick, "Unknown". It was a decent fast-action movie. A certain Rolex watch appeared several times throughout the movie. One interesting boner though: In the movie, Dr. Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) has a flashback to his wedding day and displays the wedding day gift from his new bride, a Rolex SEA-DWELLER DEEPSEA model, with the following inscription on the back, "L.H. to M.H. 7-18-06". I believe the new DEEPSEA model was first introduced in 2008, a full two years after his wedding day in the movie. Am I correct?

I do not want to give away the plot but the apparent screwup with the Rolex model year helped me quickly figure out the major twist in the plot that occurs about halfway through the flick. Watch the movie and tell me if you agree........Thanks, DAVID

I remember seeing a film about Wilhelm Tell in which one of the actors was wearing a chronograph wristwatch .

Engraved Deep sea? I thought one shouldn't engrave the back of a deep-sea. I think I read it somewhere, something to do with the titanium...

just saw unknown as well, i assume it can fit in with the plot... the whole cover up don't want to ruin it so yeah.

Hey Kevin, lighten up! Let's compare time spent on TRF......my 10 posts versus your 1000+ posts........hmmmm.....who spends all their "days and nights" on TRF?....At least I get out of the house to see a movie once in awhile.......with my wife (got one of those, Kevin?) ....In any case, I highly recommend seeing Unknown......you will love it.......Pfg1

It sounds like a movie blooper. Can I just say however that it's highly likely that only TRF members and/or watch-fanatics that would notice this.

There are a lot of people who wear Rolex's who don't even know what they are wearing (which is fine). So I don't think the rest of the world who don't fall it to either of these two categories will notice or even care...

A similar blooper appeared in Magnum PI with a Rolex GMT.

I just saw Unknown on the plane on my way to BKK. I guess I'm not a true WIS. While I recognized that it was a DSSD, I didn't pay attention to the engraving and notice it didn't make sense with the watch. Shame on me!!
