Questions about Tudor ..

I have been seeing a lot of nice Tudor watches you guys have been posting and I really like the one that looks like the daytona but has the date which is a big plus for me.. I live in the states (nj) and am thinking if I see one of the Tudors I might pick it up.. I know they do not have tudors in the states so if I was to get one would rolex fix \ maintain it? I also see some Tudors with a rolex crown and some with Tudor crown , when they they stop using a rolex crown?
Thank you

The chronograph you are referring to that looks like the Daytona is no longer made but can be purchased used. The model numbers to look for are 79260 and 79280.

Similar watches are the 79270 with a rotating bezel and the vintage big block Tudors. The big blocks are rarer and more expensive than the later models.

I've found the local ADs pretty useless when it comes to Tudors but the Rolex service centers will service them. Call the RSC in Dallas and they will mail you a kit to deliver the watch to them if it needs service.

Regarding the crown...at least here in the US, when Rolex USA services a Tudor and as is often the case, a tube and crown replacement is mandated by Rolex RSC, then the crown is replaced with a Rolex crown.

I guess it could be considered a badge of honor or authenticity because it means that Rolex USA has blessed the timepiece...
