Very nice! I never really considered getting a Tudor, until I saw your model for sale the other day here on TRF. I really thought about it, felt like I could get a quasi vintage Daytona(with a date!), for a fraction of the cost. By the time I was going to contact the seller it was sold. :)

Is the mvt a 7750 base? Or another VJ variant?

Thanks, I bought it new from Mark Theken about 6 months ago.

The movement is an ETA [sorry, can't remember the exact #] w/ an add on chrono module. I would have preferred a 7750, my favorite chrono movement, over the add on module. However, Tudor has over engineered this movement w/ 55 jewels which is a huge improvement over the original when it was first released by ETA. Mine has been run very consistent.

I see a Tudor in my future.

Dan, your Tudor is really making me think about getting one. I had not done so in the past because like you said I was concerned with people saying "That's not a Rolex", but those comments mostly comes from people who don't know Rolex history.

Hilarious write up Dan and really gorgeous pix. Still can't get over how the cyclops transforms the watch for the better.

Awesome watch. I really like the vintage look of this model. I think it was a mistake to pull the Tudor line from the ADs in some markets, but I think the Tudor line is still sold in Canada and Mexico.

Yeah, the movement has been beaten to death like 3 day old roadkill by the "in house only" elites, the size has some vintage fans rolling their eyes, and there's always the "it's not a Rolex" crowd that every Tudor owner has experienced.

But this gem has been running well within chronometer specs since day one. The dial, although busy at first glance, it amazingly easy to read, and retains a classic vintage vibe.

The lume, once charged, is good for all night.

The 42mm size is has a commanding wrist presence but is not so big that it makes my other 40mm watches feel small by comparison.

The flat case back and 22mm bracelet allow it to snug fit without feeling like handcuffs [not that I know what handcuffs feel like].

The chrono function, although a bit quirky w/ the 45 min counter, has been put to work w/ good effect on many occasions.

The 12 hour bezel is a traveler's dream and is a feature I use constantly whether on the road or while working from home.

The THC has surpassed my expectations is every way.
dP

Dan, you're tempting me ... every time I see your pics I start drooling over them ... Maybe it will be my next target ...

Ciao

I like the design, the red area on the chrono function always reminds me of Goldfinger when Bond is trying to disable the atomic bomb
