Me, too!

I rarely watch television, but last week I was watching the news and there was a shot of the courthouse with the IMF guy leaving and the photographer standing next to TV camera had on a Exp II polar.

It was huge on the screen and I got a real kick out of it.

I also do this all the time. Sometimes when we are watching TV my wife will ask me what kind of watch the person on TV is wearing. She is also amazed that many times I can recognize the type of aftermarket wheels on a car as it is driving by.

I can't agree more, I do it from time to time. Especially in the subway, so busy to play my iPhone and finding out what kind of watch people are wearing around you ..... LOL

I have the exact same thing with my other half. I said to her about this and watches in general: "it could be worse, i could be doing cocaine" and she replies "you would probably be less addicted"

My son & I were passing through US customs at the airport last month on our way to Boston for the Stanley Cup Finals and we had a very stern US Customs officer who looked very cranky and said very little except when he had to.
I noticed he was wearing a really nice Breitling on his wrist so while he was punching something in his computer I said "nice looking Breitling you have sir "
Well his head shot up and a big smile appeared on his face. We then carried on a conversation about Breitling watches for a few minutes,he told me all about it,where he bought it etc.and then he welcomed us to America and wished me a good day.
His whole demeanor changed after I noticed his Breitling and he tuned out to be a rather nice guy with a personality that he was trying to hide.
After we passed though US Customs my young fella was amazed at what just happened and was laughing his head off ! "Gee Dad did he ever change when you mentioned his watch.... you'll talk to anyone about watches !
It was hilarious, and a great start to our trip !

I did it just yesterday. The bank manager's TT blue watch caught my eye and I had to check if it was a blue sub 16613.
It wasn't.

Anyone remember the thread last year in which a guy asked if people come up to Rolex wearers and comment on their watch? The vast majority here said either that it rarely happens, or it has never happened.

However, the above comment means to me that people do notice. I also check out other people's watches all the time. I

Anyhow, I bought my first Rolex, a Sub ND, about a year ago. The other day someone at a Starbucks said something to me about it

For me it gets soi bad that if I m on the road and see an AD I have to stop and take a look at their stock. Going to an AD is like going to Synagoge, Rolex is now my new religion.
