If you believe some of the fantasist's on here, there is no waiting list, but as you well know; you could be waiting another two years, i hope not. Good luck.

I waited less than 18 months for mine, since sold it, however the price still went up by £1,320 in that time. If you're still third after two years I think your AD is passing you over in favour of others.

There is no waiting list, if you know the right people.. I'd challenge any skeptics.. any time, that I could get a Brand New "G" Serial Stainless Steel Daytona from an AD WITH My name on the Warranty Card within 24 Hours :smoking:

Well stick with your beloved AD who is probably selling the stock to mates and friends while you Keep on waiting. Here in Perth I can get my hands on 3.

Buy from a trusted seller here. They seem to be popping up frequently for sale.

Whats the issue??

mate, i live in London and buy from TRF sellers based in the US and Europe all the time, bought a watch from the US as recently as Friday last week.

PM if you need more info on how to do it - not only is it a lot easier, it's also a hell of a lot cheaper!!!

And you'll feel you've had a good deal...

I don´t get this. Back when I wanted one in March it took something like 48 hrs to find one from an AD, negotiate price and have it in my possession. It is not who you are, but who you know (and your track record).

Its been asked and answered a thousand times, and also stated: If he wants one so badly, why on earth does he continue to sit on a waiting list!? And for TWO YEARS!? And he's not even next in line, he's got 2 more people to go before he even gets a chance at one.

Get a BRAND NEW one from a trusted seller here on the forum, and most likely for or slightly less than, MSRP.

Tons of the latest in house available. Depends on how well the dealer does with sales. That's why I prefer the incredibly accurate older Zenith.

ADs are selling SS Daytonas above MSRP but there can be discounts on TT models. if your mate really wants a Daytona, why not get the TT for just slightly more? i don't care too much about resale and i went with a TT.

Indeed. Message one of the trusted TRF sellers and you'll have a brand new daytona within 30 hours of payment.

First post here. Hopefully soon I will have shots of my new watch to post!

Is there a certain cachet in buying of a SS Daytona from an ARD? Or is it just a matter of fear of buying pre-owned or grey market?

The economics just don't make sense. If there is truly a 3+ year wait, and Rolex only makes a few hundred watches per year, then it would stand to reason that any Daytona that I'd buy in above average condition would cost significantly more than MSRP. But here on TRF it appears they can be had for somewhere in the neighborhood of MSRP.

What am I missing? Simply put, if (any) product is in very high demand and extremely low supply, the price in secondary markets will go up accordingly. But that (from what I've gathered on this website and others) isn't happening w/SS Daytonas. So are ARD basically massaging the truth regarding the availability of the watches? Or are people afraid to buy pre-owned/grey market and that keeps prices down to reasonable levels?

Thanks in advance.

I dont really understand this as I regularly see Daytona's for sale at AD's in London ALL the time.

I tried 4 (SS, TT, WG and YG) on at Harrods a few weeks back... all of which i could have walked out of the door with there and then. Bond St the same........ I have just come back from the South of France and could have bought 50 had I the inclination. Cannes had loads as did St Tropez and Monaco.

All a bit of Daytona hype if you ask me. But I agree with other posters that always better to buy from trusted sellers on TRF to get the best prices.

As a matter of interest, what were the prices of the models you saw in Harrods, and how much were they in Bond street ?

They all tend to be the same RRP whether in Harrods, Selfridges, Bond St or anywhere else. It's then just down to individual negotiation with the store in question. But in my experience, Harrods are least likely to budge on prices, whereas because of the increased competition in Bond St, you stand a much better chance of getting some discount. Whether this applies to the Daytona I can't say as "heathen as I may be" I can't handle the lack of date......so didn't get to the wallet opening

OK! My favorite topic.... All I am going to say on this one, is if the OP desires to purchase his Rolex from an AD, STOP CRITICIZING HIM!!!!!! I have nothing but respect for Greg (Mosco), DavidSW, Tony (JustRolexes), and many other of the sellers on this forum. I know Tony personally and have the utmost of faith in any dealings with him or any of these guys, if the OP decides to purchase from here on TRF I have no doubt he will be more then satisfied and receive his watch quickly. HOWEVER....

Personally, I relish the experience of walking in to an AD and purchasing my watch; yes, even it it costs me a little more. I won't go in to the reason's why, and for those that make their purchases here or gray dealers more power to you! But IF someone decides to wait so they can enjoy the AD experience, LEAVE EM ALONE!
