How can you be sure a Rolex is authentic?
I just purchased a 36mm Date Just S/18KT/YG Jubilee Bra. from AH Riise in Saint Thomas USVI. How can I be sure that it is authentic? Here are some pictures of the watch.

If you buy from an authorised dealer, you can be sure it is authentic

I don't see your image,
...but I would have to ask.... What would make you think that it was not authentic..

Why did you buy it if you are not even sure that it's authentic?

sorry I am having problems uploading the pictures.
I purchased the watch from AH Riise at the Royal Caribbean port in Saint Thomas. They say that they are an authorized Dealer but how can I verify that? |

I ask this question of you because I often see such postings, questioning authenticity, after the fact, and have simply wondered why? If a person had their doubts before the purchase, I would ask why they still made the purchase, and if after, then what changed, in their mind, post purchase, to bring on those doubts. For me, before making a relatively large purchase, if I am not well versed on what I am actually buying, or where I might be buying it, I try me best to do my research beforehand.....and if I find myself on the brink of making an "impulse" buy, well, then, that might be a horse of a different color. Was simply wondering what prompted/was behind your concerns.... Congratulations on your new Rolex, and welcome to TRF.....as you can see, lots of great resources here, available to you, in advance of your next Rolex purchase!

Hi Grissom
I was on a cruse for my 49th b-day and this was an impulse buy. I normally spend week/months researching even the smallest purchase. It took me weeks to buy a $200 pair of rollerblades. I have been window shopping Rolex since I was 20 years old. I got the feeling that if I did not buy that day I never would. It was a surreal moment for me. I felt that AH Riise was safe since Royal Caribbean listed them as a preferred vendor and offered a free 60 day buyers guarantee for preferred vendors. Also the AH Riise store advertised that they were an authorised dealer. When I got home and showed the watch to friends/family they asked how I could be sure it was real. I started to panic and that lead me to this forum and my post. |

I kinda figured! Looks as if you did fine, however, and the upside is you acquired a nice Rolex, got to follow an impulse with a good result, and found your way here, to TRF!
Wear it in good health, and enjoy the memories of your 49th birthday impulse buy!!
