Interesting accomplishments by Rolex

Now I know that Wikipedia is not exactly always right, but according to their article on Rolex here are some of the company's innovations:

1) The first wristwatch with an automatically changing date on the dial (Rolex Datejust, 1945).
2) The first wristwatch with an automatically changing day and date on the dial (Rolex Day-Date).
3) The first wristwatch case waterproof to 100 m (330 ft) (Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner, 1953).
4) The first wristwatch to show two time zones at once (Rolex GMT Master, 1954)
5) The first watchmaker to earn chronometer certification for a wristwatch.

I don't know about you, but these 5 innovations are pretty awesome IMHO. I know of many people (usually the ones with much more expensive watches) who don't respect Rolex because they are very mainstream and common... but I have to say that not many watch manufacturers can claim to have industry-changing innovations like the ones listed above. More reasons to love Rolex :D.

I'll bet most WIS's consider Rolex an important brand no matter how many or what kind of watches they own.

But it is kinda disappointing that the dates do not continue up to present. I understand there have been lots of innovations but nothing game changing. But, it may also be argued that there isn't much room left of innovations of that scale.
