That's a fantastic thing you did. You're a great father...not because you gave your son a Rolex, but because you didn't give up on him

That's a fantastic gesture. He will love it all the more since it's from you, it belonged to you, and it signifies your love and faith in him.

Way to go Dad!!!

Agreed... I know If I ever came on hard times and had to sell my watches, I could let the ones I bought for myself go, but will never sell the ones gifted to me by my family. They mean more to me than any $ amount

Personally I think that getting something your father wore and loved for a long time is one of the most beautiful gifts one can get. No matter what's the original price of the thing its background and the sentimental value are priceless! Your son is, indeed, very lucky and I hope when I'll have kids I'll be able to give them the watches and jewels I owned so they'll appreciate a souvenir from their dad.

That's a very nice gesture and possibly the best thing you can do with a Rolex.

Nice.

My old man was the one that introduced me to Rolex watches. Although he didn't hook me up with a Rolex, he was with me when i bought my first 1. I made him buy lunch that day!!

You will never regret giving the watch to your son. I gave my oldest daughter a stainless Datejust and my middle daughter a black two-tone Sub. My youngest will also get a watch when she's ready. I love seeing the watches on their wrists, and they are reminded of me whenever they look at them.
